The 86th Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) will feature an extensive schedule of pesentations, forums, symposia, posters, and other exhibits. In addition, the general public is invited to attend "Weatherfest", an interactive four-hour science and weather fair designed to promote the field of meteorology, oceanography and related sciences to area families, students and teachers. This fair is free of charge and will include hands-on science experiments and exhibits geared to all ages. Visitors can talk with the scientists providing daily forecasts and doing research to improve future predictions and learn about careers in meteorology and oceanography with first hand exposure to the opportunities. Career brochures and scholarship information will be available.
