Contemporary organizations have lived a period of intense transformations within the last two decades. In order to fulfill customers? demands, and as a way of guaranteeing its own survival, companies are migrating from traditional business models focused on production to flexible models oriented to projects, fitting in with the increasing demand for customized products and services. That context imposes a high level of professionalism in project management, aiming at assure in the fulfillment of most varied customers? requirements with efficiency and efficacy. Up against this scenario of clear relevance of project management, the present research has aimed at compare in the methodology of project management, oriented to the development of e-learning solutions, conceived by SENAI-BA, with the PMBOK ? PMI?s Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge, with focus on criteria analysis of scope, time, cost, and quality. In order to do so, a theme-focused literature review was done. The research was carried out involving SENAI-BA?s collaborators and the employees of serviced companies, who acted in the development of the referred projects. The results were consolidated and analyzed aiming at identify, with more precision, possible opportunities for improvement of elearning solutions. It was verified, in the end of the research, that the methodology of the project management adopted by SENAI-BA had gaps related to the good practices published by PMBOK, especially when it comes to time and cost management, not meeting the deadlines and demanding more resources than what was planned. Thereby, alternatives were proposed to optimize SENAI-BA?s methodology of project management, aiming to reach the organization?s strategic objectives.
