This thesis includes the study of the competitiveness of industry in Bahia software. For both, was held to review the theoretical reference covering studies of competitiveness which are based on technological innovation as a factor important for the competitive performance. The study documented the aspects the competitiveness more relevant to the software industry. The application of questionnaire of the survey mapped the characteristics of the industry Bahia, providing allowance for the considerable and consistent understanding of its current stage of development. The analysis of the observations made in the search concludes with the construction of perceptions about the information obtained, providing an end list of suggestions for the development of industry in the state.
