This work considers to analyze potentialities and advantages of using the modeling and computer simulation in complex logistic operations as tool of helping the decision makingprocess. For in such a way, a case study was carried through in a Bahia industrial organization, located in Camaçari, where it was applied the tool, according to the method of project development, purposed by Law amp; Kelton (1991). The simulation project development was focus in logistic operations of shipment and expedition of trucks with bulk and packed products (bags or large barrels). These operations had been characterized of high complexity due factors as: mixing shipments existence, different loading points, trucks reverse flow problems, beyond questions related to the industrial security, because of the existence of a great trucks flow next the production areas. This dissertation has as theoretical substratum boarding on logistic and its evolution, decision making processes in complex scenes, beyond a boarding of the main concepts of the modeling and computer simulation. In this research development, diverse advantageous applications of the modeling and computational simulation had been identified, however, was decided to focus in the trucks reverse flow minimization. Because of that, was created a reverse flow index and its methodology of calculating this index using the tool of modeling and computer simulation. After the analysis of the simulation results, in diverse developed scenes and after the understanding of the situation in a global view, was identified, as improvement chance, the relocation of a warehouse, the transference of some critical products (great demand) for another shipment area, beyond the implantation of two new road scales. From the analysis of the results, it is possible to have a clear idea of the advantages and potentialities of using the modeling and computer simulation as tool of support in complex decision making processes in the logistic operations of industrial plants.
