This work is consequence of the adhesion to a trend in the Brazilian movement of Mathematical Education that advocates the use of the History of the Mathematics as pedagogical element in the process teach-learning in pertaining to school situation. The adopted estimated one here is that the History of the Mathematic saline will have significance and a pedagogical direction if the teacher knows it. As it is absent in the resumes of the Pedagogic and Magisterial courses of High School, it was considered to a group of teachers of the initial series of basic education, the study on the history of the mathematical concepts. In the present research, hide-Arabic was given to emphasis to the numeration system. The used methodology was the qualitative research in its source the search-action. For the characteristic of this modality of research, beyond the researcher, were involved teachers of basic education, university students of the pedagogic course, with some years of experience in the teaching process, in the city of Indaial-SC. In the study meetings, the speeches pronounced for the teachers in their envolvement with study of the History of the Mathematics and its Inter-relations with the pedagogical process had been analyzed. Also there were made inferences of didactic-methodologists elements for the process teach-learning of the Mathematics. The teachers had revealed the understanding of the importance to know the origins of the mathematical concepts that their pupils teach. More than this, the study of mathematical concepts, before considered well defined in the time and kept closed for any possibility of being a evolution process, it passes to be seen as a loaded process of science, ethical questions and politics. The mathematics is not more seen only as a set of know ledge produced in a partner-cultural for some brilliant individuals and consequently, inaccessible to the common people |
