Descripción: The aim of this paper is to study the book of poems "En las noches que desvisten otras noches" by the Argentinean-Canadian writer Nela Rio. Our aim is to identify the main traits of the ethical and poetic approach that Rio develops in her book. In the first part we concentrate on poem "I" and analyze the problem of the force of words, the universality, the resonance of words and the understanding of the poem as a lament and celebration. In the second part, based on poem "XIV", we study the role of the dedications and the representation of women's experiences, particularly the prison experience. Finally, I discuss poem "XXIV" where the embrace becomes an "envolver con palabras de ternura", a gesture that forms the basis for the approach to life in this book.
