  18. Evaluación de la sustentabilidad en agroecosistemas

Rodríguez-Estévez, V.; Toro, P.; Perea Muñoz, José Manuel; Gómez-Castro, A.G.; García Martínez, Antón Rafael; Acero de la Cruz, Raquel
Sustainability needs to be assessed by means of ordinal scales, allowing their categorization. Indicators and indexes have emerged as the basis for sustainability assessment methodologies; they have had to meet certain requirements to be useful. Among these requirements, the integration of the three dimensions of sustainability (economic, social and environmental) is essential. The evaluation is based on the use of indicators that describe a feature of the state of a system, generally through observed or estimated data, and indexes that consist of a quantitative aggregation of indicators. The indicators are generated from analysis of processes that uses environmental resources to...

  19. Fatores que afetam o valor nutritivo da silagens de forrageiras tropicais

Considering the importance of silage as alternative for animal feeding systems, this review aims to present recent results available in literature on factors affecting the nutritive value of silage, especially in tropical forages. Considering the cost of feed, the use of silage as animal feed is an important practice in the sustainability of production systems, especially in dry periods of the year. The ensiling of by-products of industry may be an important tool to reduce the dependence on external inputs, and reduce the environmental contamination by these residues. Changes and losses during ensilage are influenced by the characteristics of the...

  20. Control genealógico en la raza murciano-granadina mediante el uso de microsatélites del ADN

León Jurado, J.M.; Pleguezuelos, J.; Barba Capote, C.J.; Martínez Martínez, Amparo; Delgado-Bermejo, J.V.
One of bigger obstacles at present time for the development of the selection schemes on goats is the genealogical control, due to the peculiar management systems of dairy goats, especially in Spain, with polyestric breeds and the frequent practice of natural mating using several males for lot. Considering these facts, and as a basic measure in selection scheme of Murciano Granadina goat, a verification of the effectiveness of the fertilization and birth declarations in the three control nuclei integrated in the National Breeders Association of Murciano Granadina goat was done during the years 2004 to 2006. Molecular markers (microsatellites of...
