  4. Dos nuevos fragmentos de sarcófagos paleocristianos en Córdoba

    Here are two new fragments of sarcophagi from the Christian antiquity in Cordoba. They have presumably belonged to the near necropolis of Cercadilla. Fragment 1 (340-350) was found lying as threshold at a hispano-mussulman house, and portrays the raising of Lazarus, the sacrifice of Isaac, and Jesus feeding five thousand. Fragment 2, from the Constantinian age, only conserves a relief with the raising of Lazarus.

  5. Dos tumbas de Época Altoimperial documentadas en el entorno minero de Cerro Muriano (Córdoba): I.A.U. La Mocha

    The last archaeological explorations and other researches made at Cerro Muria­no come to corroborate the importance of this mining whole wich, according to all the vestiges, was already worked during Prehistory. Lower down, we show some outstanding aspects about two burials excavated on geological rock that must be produced about the transition from I B.C. to I A.C. century. Constitute the first two examples of funeral structures wich have been verified in this space, that has been continously sacked since was presented round about 1872.

    Into the Spanish castles studies, the investigation of the rebuilt fortresses and in process of restoration ones occupies the last place. Taking them as a whole, the results of the first investigations about them dated from mid of the XIX century until the first years of the XX, are varied but have a lack of historic or archaeology rigour.     In this paper we intend to offer an overview of the formal evolution of some of de pottery series from the archaeological site of Cercadilla. With this, we have let es-tablished some of the keys that allow us to frame definite pottery forms in different moments of the medieval, islamic, period in the site.

  9. El Vicus Occidental de Colonia Patricia, bases para su estudio: la cerámica romana

    Die hier vorliegende Arbeit, handelt über die Forschung des vicus, das in der westliche Aussenmauer der Colonia Patricia ausserhalb der Stadt liegt, anhand der Keramikanalyse. Mit dieser Forschung haben wir einen Lichtblick über die Bildung der Phase (Etappe), die Entwicklung und die spätere Aufgabe der Fläche bekommen (60-70/ Jh. III n. Ch. ). Bei dieser Forschung haben wir einen interesanten Fund gemacht, der uns Aufschluss über die Gewonheiten und Gebräuche der damaligen Zeit gibt. Er dokumentiert einen Teil der Keramikzeit, die uns bis heute noch nicht in der Stadt bekannt war.

    Archaeological research in Huelva has been mainly focused to Tartesian period, for which the evidence of the site as a whole was practicaly unknowm. In this paper, based on the evidence obtained in many archaeological works carried out through last dececades, site evolution from Late Prehistory to nowadays is explained.

  11. La ciudad romana de Turobriga. Un modelo urbano en los Llanos de Aroche (Huelva)

    The roman Turobriga, although known by scientists in the middle of 60's, until 1996 no archaeological excavations were conducted therein. As from said year several papers and reports have been issued of diverse field works carried out my members of Area de Arqueología de la Universidad de Huelva. In this paper a synthesis of new evidence is presented regarding historial implications of roman town in the Picos de Aroche territory context, its urban pattern, and special relevance of the evidence obtained in the forum area is giving.

    In this paper we study excavation results and studies carried out in the Niebla Ar-chaeological Urban Proyect. The relationship between the Niebla (Huelva province, southwest Spain) settlement and the configuration of an urban model from the Late Bronze Age to Medieval Time, explains the importance that the urban concept have been througth the time in the Huelva Countryside, and we analize the diferent eco-nomic interactive models beetwen the city and its territory.

  13. El Centenillo. Proceso de musealización de un paisaje minero en la provincia de Jaén

    This report shows the results obtained to date of the project carried out with fun-ding granted by the Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía in 1999. The prin­cipal objective of this project was to preparate the necessary documentation to study the possibilities of opening the archaeological remains at El Centenillo to the public. El Centenillo was an important mining centre in the first half of the 20th century, and also in the time of the Roman occupation.

    It is analyzed in this work a new document epigraphic appeared in the Farm of Periate (Piñar, Granada ) in the one that mentions you for the first time in the Iberian Península the Ordo Accitanorum Veterum and an individual, L. Aemilius Propinquus, to who is denominated accitanus veteris. The Hispanic municipalities are studied with the nickname Vetus: Astigi, Tucci and Acci, reaching the conclusion that these, after the foundation of their respective colonies, continued existing as independent municipalities, although they had to give part of their territory and, in occasions, to pay a compensation to Rome .     In this paper we will make known the starting points, preliminary results and new considerations regarding the population distribution through out Prehistory and Ancient Times in the Almanzora Valley (Almería). Prehistoric settlements have been localised both in the valley and the mountains, and since the Iberian period, dwellings have concentrated in the valley.

  16. Antigüedades romanas de Santaella (Córdoba), a partir de los datos contenidos en una carta del siglo XVIII

    In this paper the authors analyze a letter by the eruditefrom Ronda Juan María de Rivera, dated in 1760, in which he offers information about somes archaeological objects that, possibly, come from the surroundings of the cordobán village of Santaella. In addition in the letter one provides data, logically confuse, on the archaeologic context of the pieces, perhaps a domus or villa.   17. Los castillos en el reino de Córdoba: revisión historiográfica y perspectivas actuales

    After a historiographical survey of the most relevant authors who have dealt with fortifications in the Late Medieval Kingdom of Cordoba ( Spain ), we have tried to establish an evolution in the different ways of approaching the study of this particular buildings. At the same time, we analyse the various opportunities for ressearching that have come out, both from restoration projects carried out on architectural heritage and from the main methodology advances and new approaches wich have been developed in recent years.

  18. Les Ludi Circenses dans les mosaïques de l'Occident romain, Afrique exceptee

    Une mosaïque bichrome illustrant les ludi circenses, découverte dans le Palazzo Imperiale d'Ostie en 1988 n'a pas fait l'objet d'une étude détaillée, á ce jour. Six cochers sont accompagnés d' inscriptions donnant leur nom et celui de leur cheval, probablement le funalis, á l'ablatif. Des bourses et des cylindres de prix complètent cette image de type commémoratif. L'A. rapproche les noms de Liber et d'Hilarinus des mêmes noms connus par une inscription de Prima Porta, datée de l'époque antonine, et en tire argument pour dater la mosaïque d'Ostie, au plus tard sous le règne de Commode.     The article examines a Julio-Claudian iconographic type attested by three sculptures, each representing a togated headless man with an eagle at his feet. The first is preserved in the Dutch Institute of Rome: its findspot was unknown but it is probably possible now to recognise its provenance from the 1853 excavations in Ardea. The second was found in 1982 in the Roman colony of Gravisca; the third is in the Boboli Gardens of Florence. In the imperial statues of the Julio-Claudian period, the toga capite velato marks the pietas of the emperor. Instead the eagle is the bird of Jupiter...

    Il presente articolo muove dal considerare il monumento funerario romano nella sua qualitá di grande depositario e trasmettitore di messaggi individuali e dunque inteso come campo d'indagine privilegiato della societá che lo produce. Sulla base di tali premesse, vengono trattate caratteristiche e diffusione di alcune classi monumentali tra le più ricche e documentate nella Tarraconensis. Se, da una parte, l'evidenza archeologica, pur offrendo spunti interessanti, impedisce quasi sempre 1' attribuzione dei singoli edifici a ben determinati individui, dall' altra, l' immagine generale che se ne ricava é quella di una committenza privata, anche facoltosa, ma non esasperatamente autocelebrativa, nelle cui...
