Während der Kampf gegen das aviäre Influenzavirus H5N1 auf EU-Ebene schon längst begonnen hat, muss diesen nun auch die Schweiz aufnehmen. Bei dem ersten Verdachtsfall eines verendeten Wasservogels, der in der Nähe des Jet d´eau in Genf gefunden wurde, konnte der Virusstamm H5 bestätigt werden. Die definitiven Resultate werden jedoch erst Ende der Woche vom EU-Referenzlaboratorium aus Weybridge, GB, erwartet. Warum dieses Referenzlabor zuständig ist und das nationale Tierseuchenrecht mit dem Gemeinschaftsrecht «äquivalent» ist, zeigt der folgende Artikel auf.
