Abstract
In Hong Kong, the housing markets are played by the home purchasers, manipulated by the developers, conditioned by the financial institutions and regulated by the government. The prospective home purchasers regardless they are homeowners or non-homeowners, they would have their own set of principles, values and aspirations towards their home owning decision. The middle class is the major market players and surely has experienced a lifetime boom and bust in the housing market demarcated by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis.
