Pretreatment of automobile shredder residue (ASR) for fuel utilization - Hwang, I.H.; Yokono, S.; Matsuto, T.
Composition analysis revealed that ASR components could be classified into four groups: (1) urethane and textile?light fraction and combustibles containing low levels of ash and Cl; (2) plastics and rubber?light or heavy fraction and combustibles containing high levels of Cl; (3) metals and electrical wire?heavy fraction and incombustibles, and (4) particles smaller under 5.6 mm with high ash contents.

Encapsulation-release property of amphiphilic hyperbranched d-glucan as a unimolecular reverse micelle - Kitajyo, Yoshikazu; Imai, Tomoko; Sakai, Yoko; Tamaki, Masaki; Tani, Hirofumi; Takahashi, Kenji; Narumi, Atsushi; Kaga, Harumi; Kaneko, Noriaki; Satoh, Toshifumi; Kakuchi, Toyoji
The synthesis of a novel unimolecular reverse micelle, the hyperbranched d-glucan carbamate (3), was accomplished through the carbamation reaction of the hyperbranched d-glucan (1) with the N-carbonyl l-leucine ethyl ester (2) in pyridine at 100 °C.

Free-surface flows under impacting droplets - Watanabe, Yasunori; Saruwatari, Ayunii; Ingram, David M.
A numerical method which fulfils the free-surface boundary conditions and extrapolates the fluid velocity in to empty grid cells outside the fluid region on a fixed Cartesian grid system is presented.

Estimating Nanoscale Deformation in Bone by X-ray Diffraction Imaging Method - Tadano, Shigeru; Giri, Bijay; Sato, Takuya; Fujisaki, Kazuhiro; Todoh, Masahiro
The widely applied approaches for profile shift measurement - peak-shift and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of a peak, and shift of centre of gravity of profile – were compared with a new concept of segmental-shift (SS) proposed previously by the authors.
