Localized vibrational modes in superlattices - Tamura, Shin-ichiro; ??, ???
The continuous equation governing the elastic-wave motion in a superlattice is transformed exactly to a discrete form which is analogous to the equation for the displacement in one-dimensional discrete lattices.
42.
Acoustic phonons in multiconstituent superlattices - Tamura, S.; Wolfe, J. P.; ??, ???
Acoustic phonons propagating parallel to the growth direction of a periodic superlattice composed of more than two different constituent layers are studied theoretically.
43.
Focusing of large-wave-vector phonons in GaAs - Tamura, Shin-ichiro; Harada, Toshiharu; ??, ???
Focusing of 0- to 1.5-THz transverse-acoustic phonons in GaAs is studied on the basis of an extended rigid-ion model, which reproduces very accurately the observed dispersion curves of acoustic phonons.
45.
Spontaneous decay of TA phonons - Tamura, S.; Maris, H. J.; ??, ???
Anharmonic decay of high-energy transverse acoustic (TA) phonons satisfying ???kBT is studied taking account of the elastic anisotropy of real crystalline solids.
48.
Isotope scattering of dispersive phonons in Ge - Tamura, Shin-ichiro; ??, ???
We show that the lattice dispersion which becomes appreciable in the THz-frequency region leads to the phonon relaxation time that decreases more rapidly than ?(-4).
49.
Focusing of high-frequency dispersive phonons - Tamura, S.; ??, ???
Focusing of near-zone-edge acoustic phonons in Ge is studied based on the dynamical matrix of lattice derived by Herman.

Orienting coupled quantum rotors by ultrashort laser pulses - Shima, Hiroyuki; Nakayama, Tsuneyoshi; ?, ??
We pointed out that the nonadiabatic orientation of quantum rotors, produced by ultrashort laser pulses, is remarkably enhanced by introducing dipolar interaction between the rotors.
54.
Dielectric anomaly in coupled rotor systems - Shima, Hiroyuki; Nakayama, Tsuneyoshi; ?, ??
The correlated dynamics of coupled quantum rotors carrying electric dipole moment is theoretically investigated.
55.
Critical behavior of ac conductivity near the Anderson transition - Shima, Hiroyuki; Nakayama, Tsuneyoshi; ?, ??
We investigate the dynamic scaling behavior of ac conductivity ?(?) in three-dimensional (3D) unitary and symplectic systems in addition to orthogonal one by means of large-scale simulations.
56.
Interacting quantum rotors in oxygen-doped germanium - Shima, Hiroyuki; Nakayama, Tsuneyoshi; ?, ??
We investigate the interaction effect between oxygen impurities in crystalline germanium on the basis of a quantum rotor model.
58.
Coulomb staircase and total spin in quantum dots - Akera, Hiroshi; ??, ??
The dependence of the Coulomb staircase on the total spin of a quantum dot is calculated at a current step corresponding to a transition between the ground states of two successive electron numbers.
59.
Correlations and spin flips in tunneling through a quantum dot - Akera, Hiroshi; ??, ??
Variations of the Coulomb oscillations with the in-plane magnetic field (the spin splitting) are theoretically studied to find many-body effects in tunneling through a quantum dot.
60.
Aharonov-Bohm effect and electron correlation in quantum dots - Akera, Hiroshi; ??, ??
Transport through two quantum dots in parallel is studied theoretically in the presence of a magnetic flux between dots and in the limit of large one-electron level separations in each dot.
