  8. Toilet Worship

    Colophon: Toilet Worship by Mary Jo Bole was hand-printed using color laser and letterpress on Mohawk Superfine Cover paper. The endsheets were printed letterpress on Hahnemühle mould-made Bugra paper. Each copy includes a sheet of gum-backed stamps stencil-printed at Knust Press, Netherlands, perforated by Wim Van Vonderen. Of 140 numbered & signed copies bound into cloth over boards by Craig Jensen and Gary McLerran at BookLab II, the first 40 copies have an original tintype made by M.J. Bole inlaid into the cover.

  9. Aldus Reflects : The Tenth Anniversary of The Aldus Society 2000-2010

    Colophon: Ron Ravenberg's essay, "All You Have to Do is Ask," has been an inspiration to Aldus members since it appeared in the Spring 2004 edition of the Aldus Society newsletter. Ron was amazed at the book collections he was able to visit, simply because he asked. This publication was produced by Aldus Society members who contributed their thoughts and talents, simply because they were asked. The commemorative Aldus Reflects project was headed by Nancy Campbell, with editorial assistance from Kassie Rose, Laralyn Sasaki, Genie Hoster, and Jay Hoster.     Colophon: This book was printed on Somerset paper from photopolymer plates using a Vandercook No. 4 letterpress. The type was composed in LTC Caslon Pro using Adobe InDesign. The frontispiece illustration is based on a wood engraving fone by the author. Of three hundred copies handsewn into covers of handmade paper infused with the aroma of chili, this is copy number .

    Colophon: Two hundred-fifty copies of this broadside were printed from photo-polymer plates on Mohawk Superfine Cover paper using a Vandercook Number 4 press at The Ohio State University Libraries' Logan Elm Press, Spring 2010. The body type is LTC Kennerley Bold and the titling font is from the press's collection of woodtype; the image of the press's 1872 Improved Albion Handpress is based on a wood engraving by Dale E. Starr.

    Colophon: The idea for Solche Sensationen/Such Sensations originated with Robert Tauber in the spring of 1990 based on his familiarity with two other books: The Shepheardes Calendar by Edmund Spenser, first published in 1579, which depicts the whole of a man's life through the twelve months of a year, with a woodcut to illustrate each month; and Onze menus de Paul Gaugin by Robert Rey, first published in 1950, which reproduced the watercolor menus Gauguin painted for guests at a dinner party in his Tahitian home, three years before his death in 1903.   15. The Captain James Cook Collection : a keepsake commemorating the donation by Ron Ravneberg

    Colophon: This keepsake was designed by Robert Tauber and Helen Liebman. It was printed letterpress at The Ohio State University Libraries' Center for Book Arts on Arches Wove mould-made paper from handset Spectrum types and photopolymer plates. The text was written by Helen Liebman after a conversation with Ron Ravneberg during the fall of 2008. Three hundred copies of this keepsake were handsewn into Hahnemühle Bugra cover wraps blind embossed by the Harper Engraving Company using a brass die made from a Wedge cameo portrait of Captain James Cook. Special thanks to Feoffrey Smith and Christi Ravneberg.
