  1. Análisis cuantitativo de defectos en módulos fotovoltaicos de instalaciones españolas

    Se han caracterizado módulos fotovoltaicos (FV) defectuosos procedentes de plantas FV españolas empleando las técnicas de termografía IR (TIR) y electroluminiscencia (EL). El análisis cualitativo de las imágenes reveló roturas de célula, roturas de tiras de interconexión, y la posible existencia de PID entre otros defectos. Adicionalmente se realizó el estudio cuantitativo mediante el análisis estadístico del histograma de TIR y EL a nivel de célula. La moda y el coeficiente de variación mostraron ser sensibles a múltiples tipos de defectos, lo que permitiría cuantificar la gravedad de los mismos. Para ello, se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica y se han evaluado 112 proyectos del Repositorio de la Iniciativa Safe Access to Fuel and Energy (SAFE) liderada por ACNUR. However, a high penetration rate could endanger the stability of power systems, particularly in small islands. Hydropower plays an important role in the regulation and control of isolated power systems with renewable sources, but it may not be able to maintain the frequency within grid requirements.     This paper focuses on Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS), consisting of a combination of batteries and Electric Double Layer Capacitors (EDLC), for electric urban busses. The aim of the paper is to develop a methodology to determine the hybridization percentage that allows the electric bus to work with the highest efficiency while reducing battery aging, depending on the chosen topology, control strategy, and driving cycle.     A methodological framework has been designed to analyze the sustainability of China’s electricity sector in the wake of the 13th Development Plan for the Electricity Sector (2016-2020). The proposal is based on ISO 14040 but also incorporates some features from the "new LCA" approach described in the CALCAS project. Discussion is provided about its practical implementation, including definition of objectives through sustainability questions and subquestions, definition of scope, definition of scenarios, functional unit, selection of sustainability issues and indicators, suitability of analysis tools, availability of inventory data and aggregation methods to facilitate decision making.

    The passive safety systems of the AP1000® nuclear reactor are based on natural phenomena to ensure containment integrity during an accident. One of the most important passive systems is the Passive Containment Cooling System (PCS), responsible for cooling the containment in operation and during an accident, guaranteeing the core residual heat evacuation. The main objective of this research is to simulate the performance of this passive cooling system under operating conditions and in a LBLOCA type accident.     The new version of COBAYA diffusion code, COBAYA4, has been integrated into SALOME platform in order to enable the coupling with other thermal-hydraulics codes of the platform. Particularly, it has been coupled with CTF code, and the system COBAYA4-CTF is employed within NURESAFE project for the simulation of MSLB transient in two different reactors: PWR and VVER.

  10. Free form metallization of solar cells using Laser Induced Forward Transfer

    Front metallization is an expensive, fundamental step in the fabrication of solar cells. Laser additive direct writing techniques, such as Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT), can be used for printing optimized metallization patterns or free form personalized designs with applications in building integrated photovoltaics. In this work, metallic fingers and busbars have been printed onto different rigid and flexible photovoltaic materials using commercial, high viscosity, micron-sized particles, silver-based pastes. Printed lines show very large aspect ratios, low electrical resistivity and good adherence to the substrate. Functional test cells have been metallized from unfinished CIGS flexible solar cells.

    The crystallization by laser of amorphous or microcrystalline silicon films allows to obtain thin, high-quality, polycrystalline Si films, being a very promising method for diminishing costs in the microelectronic and solar cells sectors.     Front metallization is an expensive, fundamental step in the fabrication of solar cells. It comprises different processes including the printing of fingers and busbars and several thermal treatments in order to cure and sinter the printed material. These two steps have been replaced by laser direct writing techniques, what allows printing fully personalized metallization designs, with high throughput velocities and a lower thermal budget for the solar cell structure.

Sin embargo, desde que el Gobierno chino apostó en 2005 por el desarrollo de la energía nuclear, se ha convertido en el país con más reactores en construcción y con mayor abanico de tecnologías, propias e importadas. En este artículo se expone una perspectiva del desarrollo de la tecnología nuclear de China desde sus comienzos hasta nuestros días, incluyendo la participación de la industria nuclear española en los proyectos chinos.
