At the same time, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation is holding manu-facturers and retailers responsible, especially in Europe, for waste generated at end-of-use and end-of-life phases for some specific products. Finding alternatives to the landfill for textile waste will extend textile life, contributing to the development of circular economy and sustainable business models in the fashion industry. This study identifies and characterizes, as a first stage research, current...

Morales Alonso, Gustavo; Lemus Aguilar, Isaac; Ramírez-Portilla, Andrés; Hidalgo Nuchera, Antonio
Companies have focused greatly on Sustainability and Business Models in last years. While this situation signals the relevance of both concepts to have more sustainable organizations, it does not mean that they are always seen interlinked for the design of such organizations. Departing from this idea and by considering recognized models on organizational design, a systematic literature review was conducted by retrieving 404 JCR papers from the WoK database. The results show that only 14 papers have addressed specifically the interplay between such concepts, which could also be related mainly to four of the five factors of organizational design: Strategy,...

Firms in a variety of manufacturing sectors as well as the software industry have increasingly embraced services alongside their product portfolios in order to improve financial performance. Yet, the key question “How do service market strategy change and the accompanying business model change interact, and how does their interplay affect value creation?” remains open. Relying on twelve case studies of firms that have shifted towards providing highly advanced services (e.g. outcome-based contracts), theoretical propositions concerning the interplay of market strategy and business model on value creation are derived. The firms studied report two interdependent changes: first, they evolve the market...

Rodríguez Rivero, Rocío; Ortiz Marcos, Isabel; Ballesteros Sánchez, Luis Ignacio; Romero Ruiz, José Javier
Currently, many engineering projects are conducted in international contexts in which social and cultural issues are very important. In-depth analysis of the risks associated with both types of issues offers companies a better understanding of how to focus their marketing tools to be more effective and provides project managers with strategies to improve customer relationships. Hofstede?s Cultural Dimensions and Meyer?s Culture Map have demonstrated that every society possesses distinguishing features, and these theories serve as a foundation for identifying the dimensions of a proposed Cultural Risk Breakdown Structure (CRBS). Through a literature review, cultural risks in different international contexts are...
