  2. Save Tor di Valle! Poética estructural de las tribunas del hipódromo de Tor di Valle. La obra maestra desconocida de un arquitecto español en Roma.

    Pastor, Marta
[EN] The hippodrome of Tor di Valle (1959), by Spanish architect Julio Lafuente, is a challenge both in design and development, making it a model reference of the architecture of its time. The solution of its thin concrete shell and the spatial structure of the stands suggest a sign of modernity and constructive rationality, and the enormous dimensions of the pieces as a whole give the stands an extraordinary expressive power. By contrasting scales and textures, and the geometry and dimension of support elements, achieves a de-domestication of the house and turns it into a total space of emotion

  5. Tiempo y construcción. La intervención de Sverre Fehn en la granja de Hamar.

López de la Cruz, Juan José
[EN] The intervention on the remains of the ancient barn at Hamar carried out by the Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn entailed an intense encounter of time and matter, one that synthesises what he experienced in his travels to Morocco and Paris, his works in Brussels and Venice and his deep Scandinavian cultural roots. In this work, construction, rather than the definition of shape, is what enables it to dialogue with the past. With the use of raw concrete, Fehn acknowledges the present while also building an effective exhibition medium that flows freely among medieval ruins
