    Resources are a key to innovative actions -not only, but also- in nonprofit organizations (NPOs). With the societal obligation of NPOs to create innovative and effective approaches in responding to a variety of concerns such as poverty, human rights, social services, environmental protection etc. this study examines the resource foundations that make NPOs innovative. NPOs are known to show a considerable degree of pioneer work and innovativeness in responding to societal concerns (Salamon et al., 2004). To have NPOs maintain their innovative behavior it is of the utmost interest to identify those requirements and needs that support their specific functions....

  4. Das Potential von Aus- und Weiterbildung in der Solidarökonomie für die Lokalentwicklung in Brasilien

    Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Wissenstransfer innerhalb der Solidarökonomie Brasiliens und mit dem Potential für die Initiierung und Förderung lokaler Entwicklungskreisläufe. Die Zielsetzung liegt in der Identifizierung der Aus- und Weiterbildungseinrichtungen der Solidarökonomie, der Untersuchung der Methoden und Arbeitsweisen der Beratungsstellen für solidarische Betriebe und der Analyse der sich in der Folge ergebenden positiven Effekte für die Lokalentwicklung. Zur Erforschung dieser Fragestellung wurden Interviews mit diversen AkteurInnen der Solidarökonomie vor Ort und teilstandardisierte telefonische Interviews mit VertreterInnen der Beratungsstellen einerseits und der Betriebe andererseits geführt, die dann mit Hilfe der Grounded Theory in Hinblick auf Aus- und Weiterbildung...

    In today's knowledge-based society academic spin-offs are considered as one important form of technology transfer. However, most related entrepreneurial efforts fail.
