  1. Protocolo: Evaluación de los riesgos del flujo de material en el diseño de instalaciones

SÁEZ MÁS, AÍDA MARÍA; García Sabater, José Pedro
[EN] The need of design new layouts or redesign current situation to manufacture new products has increased principally due to changes in customer demand, on both variety aspects and quantity (Lu, Shpitalni, and Gadh, 1999). The complexity increase is also associated with the traffic generated by material handling equipment. This situation can be described as unsafe for workers. Many authors defend that during layout design/redesign a risk analysis is necessary. In contrast others believe that material flow analysis should be a mainly task during this step. Therefore, in this research both considerations have been integrated. So that it is proposed...

  2. Protocol: A literature review about the use of crowdsourcing in educational environments

    Estellés Arolas, Enrique
[EN] The objective with the protocol described in this paper is to review the existing literature in relation to the implementation of crowdsourcing in educational environments. It seeks to give answer to 4 questions. First, it seeks to answer the question of which kind of crowdsourcing initiatives are more appropriate to be used for educational activities. In second place it’s important to find out whether there is any particular discipline in which crowdsourcing, by its nature, can be applied more naturally. Third, it seeks to identify which factors influence both positively and negatively in the teaching/learning experience using crowdsourcing. Finally,...

  3. Proposal of a Framework for Innovation Competencies Development and Assessment (FINCODA)

Marín García, Juan Antonio; Andreu Andrés, María Angeles; Atarés Huerta, Lorena María; Aznar Más, Lourdes; García Carbonell, Amparo; González-Ladrón-de-Guevara, Fernando; Montero Fleta, Maria Begoña; Pérez Peñalver, María José; Watts Hooge, Frances Irene
[EN] In this article we propose a model of innovation competence of people, based on the existing literature to integrate and complement the existing models. The main contribution of this work consists in demonstrating the differences and similarities of current models and in providing a conceptual definition for each model element. In this way, both researchers and people in charge of Human Resources in companies can obtain a framework to design measuring instruments to assess the innovation competence, which can fulfil the twofold demand requirement of validity and reliability.

  4. ¿Cómo se ha evaluado la competencia de innovación en las empresas y las universidades?

Ramirez Bayarri, Lucia; Marín García, Juan Antonio; Atarés Huerta, Lorena María
[EN] Companies, in order to increase their competitiveness in a changing environment, demand innovative people. They must be able to measure the innovative competence of individuals. Universities, meanwhile, are training future professionals and have raised the need to strengthen and work the innovation skills of their students, thus promoting access to employment and in turn increasing the competitiveness of both companies and the society. Through this literature review (27 references), innovation competence in the professional field is addressed by studying how companies detect and measure competence of their workers. Moreover, it analyzes how universities work this competence with their students.

  5. Validación de constructos en dirección de operaciones mediante la Teoría de la Medición de Rasch. El caso del constructo “motivación para implantar la mejora continua”

    Sanchez-Ruiz, Lidia; Blanco, Beatriz
[EN] Construct design and validation is a common practise in the Operations Management field. In this sense, the aim of this study is to present Rasch Measurement Theory (RMT) as richful and useful methodology in order to validate constructs. In order to do so, the measurement controversy in the social science is presented; then, RMT is explained as a solution for this measurement issue; after that, the different applications of RMT are described and, finally, the different stages of the validation process are presented. Thus, this work aims to serve as a guide for those researchers interested in the methodology....

  6. Assembly plant simulation to support decision-making n Layout Design considering safety issues. A case study.

SÁEZ MÁS, AÍDA MARÍA; García Sabater, José Pedro; Morant Llorca, Joan; Maheut, Julien
This paper presents a simulation model that has been created to support decision-making during the layout redesign of an engine and transmission assembly plant in the automotive sector. The plant requires a new layout and supply logistic due to an increase in its complexity and daily production. Discrete event simulation has been used to validate an initial proposal and to propose different what-if scenarios of layout and operations management systems. These scenarios will be evaluated regarding materials flow generated throughout the plants. The main focus of the decision process was focused on safety issues related to the material handling. The...

  7. Action planning intervention to identify how to improve selection processes for internships

Marín García, Juan Antonio; González, Eduardo; Carrasco, Myriam; Ros, Daniel
In this research into participatory action research, by a team formed by researchers and people in charge in various areas of several multinational companies, we reflected on the advantages and disadvantages of internships and we proposed a procedure for companies to improve the recruitment and selection of industrial engineers, while strengthening relationships between the university and companies, attracting students’ interest, improving their professional competences and providing evidence for their students’ real learning to degree managers at the same time.
