  1. Participación del alumnado en la evaluación de prácticas relacionadas con Ensayos No Destructivos (END) mediante la utilización de rúbricas

    [EN] This study shows the results obtained by incorporating the students as an evaluator element of a subject related to Non Destructive Testing (NDT) university master. To do this, the student has the same rubrics that owns the teacher and participant makes 50% of evaluated student note. In this way it has able to increase the interaction between student/teacher, improving reliability and imparciabilidad of the evaluation process, as well as a much greater assimilationn of objectives by students. Data analysis shows a higher level of attention and requirement (73% of exigency that teacher´s results) in the students participate inf the evaluation process

  2. Fiabilidad y validez de rúbricas para la evaluación de las competencias «Comunicación» y «Diseño y proyecto»

    [EN] This paper addresses the analysis of reliability and validity of two rubrics developed by the Universitat Politècnica de València. This analysis is based on the assessment of the presentations made by first year students in EDEM University Center. With this aim, internal consistency and reliability measures have been computed and construct validity has been examined for both rubrics through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results showed that the rubric for the evaluation of ‘Design and project’ can be applied to the assessment of these projects, whereas the rubrics for the evaluation of ‘Communication’ may not be adequated for this context.     [EN] In this study we will design teaching activities in two different subjects to introduce some digital technologies (Twitter, on line quizzes and videos, Whatsapp) and thus aid the teaching-learning process. Through an initial questionnaire we will evaluate the level of students’ self-efficacy as well as the degree of use of ICTs. And we analyze the possible relationship between the use of ICTs with the level of perceived self-efficacy and academic performance of students, both in daily life and in class activities. The proposal is based on the use of reverse teaching, collaborative learning, teamwork, the use of computers in regular classes and solving real engineering problems. The dual purpose of this work is to learn more about the different numerical methods that allow to solve complex problems of engineering and to learn how to program the corresponding algorithms with Matlab.

These processes involve a learning activities design which enhances the way of giving information and feed-back. The application of hydrogen bond concept in order to interpret physical properties has been evaluated in this work. The developed activity consisted of observing and comparing the viscosity of different alcohols.   7. Efectos en el examen final de la participación del estudiante en cuestionarios online

    [EN] This paper looks into the different evolution of students’ online questionnaire performance and its impact on the final examination mark. This innovative technique has been used in a group of an introductory financial accounting course with 8 online questionnaires (one per unit). Using cluster analysis, we identify different groups of performance evolution. The evidence obtained suggests that in one of this groups a favourable test performance evolution may lead to overconfidence with the subsequent negative effect on the final examination mark. Future research with more variables and bigger samples will help identify this student profile with a view to preventing this undesired negative effect of this teaching technique.

  10. Evaluación entre compañeros de la comunicación oral efectiva

    [EN] Peer assessment is a form of collaborative learning where students evaluate the product of learning of other students. In our case, students perform two types of evaluation related to effective communication: they evaluate quantitatively, in teamwork, problems solved by another team, and later they evaluate qualitatively oral presentations of problem solutions. They have been given guidelines on how to perform the evaluation. The result has been compared to the assessment made by teachers. In the qualitative assessment of the oral presentations, we have not found significant differences between students and professors.
