Larvae of Sarcophaga (Curranea) tibialis (S.

85. Finding the optimum: fluoridation of potable water in South Africa. - Muller, W.J.; Heath, R.G.M.; Villet, M.H.
Since the South African Department of Health has tabled legislation to make fluoridation of public water supplies mandatory, the issue of whether fluoride is beneficial or harmful has, once again, become controversial in South Africa.

87. An estimation of the standing stock and population structure of Upogebia africana (Crustacea : Thalassinidae) in the Knysna Estuary - Hodgson, A.N.; Allanson, B.R.; Cretchley, R.
Within the Knysna Estuary Upogebia africana has an extensive distribution from north of Leisure Isle to the Red Bridge, occupying 62% of the available intertidal zone.

A detailed hydrographic and biological survey was carried out in the region of the South-West Indian Ridge during April 2004.

89. A century of Zoology and Entomology at Rhodes University, 1905 to 2005 - Hodgson, A.N.; Craig, A.J.F.K.
The history of the Department of Zoology & Entomology at Rhodes University is traced from its origin with a single staff member, through the era of permanent heads of department to the present day staff.

90. Endothermy in African Platypleurine Cicadas: The Influence of Body Size and Habitat (Hemiptera: Cicadidae) - Sanborn, A.F.; Villet, M.H.; Phillips, P.K.
The platypleurine cicadas have a wide distribution across Africa and southern Asia.

91. Kappia lobulata (Apocynaceae, Periplocoideae), a new genus from South Africa - Venter, H.J.T.; Dold, A.P.; Verhoeven, R.L.; Ionta, G.
Kappia, a new genus from the Fish River Valley in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa is presented.

92. Creating international support for the development of the news media in Africa - Banda, Fackson
This article analyses the issues associated with providing support mechanisms for strengthening media institutions in Africa.

A stability-indicating high-performance liquid chromatographic method with on-line clean-up has been developed for the analysis of betamethasone 17-valerate in topical dosage forms.

94. Evaluation of the proposed FDA pilot-dose response methodology for topical corticosteroid bioequivalence testing - Demana, P.H.; Smith, E.W.; Walker, R.B.; Haigh, J.M.; Kanfer, I.
The visually-assessed human skin blanching assay methodology routinely practiced in our laboratories was modified to comply with the requirements of the pilot study so that visual and chromameter data could be compared.

95. Evaluation of the proposed FDA pilot-dose response methodology for topical corticosteroid bioeqivalence testing [authors' reply in Letters to the Editor] - Smith, E.W.; Walker, R.B.; Haigh, J.M.; Kanfer, I.
