La idea fundamental detrás de este tipo de desarrollos es la de sustituir el receptor único típicamente instalado en el plano focal de estos instrumentos por una matriz bidimensional de receptores, implementando lo que habitualmente se conoce como una matriz en plano focal (Focal Plane Array, FPA).     NIKA (New IRAM KID Arrays) is a dual-band imaging instrument installed at the IRAM (Institut de RadioAstronomie Millimetrique) 30-meter telescope at Pico Veleta (Spain). Two distinct Kinetic Inductance Detectors (KID) focal planes allow the camera to simultaneously image a field-of-view of about 2 arc-min in the bands 125 to 175 GHz (150 GHz) and 200 to 280 GHz (240 GHz). The sensitivity and stability achieved during the last commissioning Run in June 2013 allows opening the instrument to general observers.   3. Search for CO gas in Pluto, Centaurs and Kuiper Belt objects at radio wavelengths

    We have searched for several rotational lines of CO in the Pluto-Charon system, Centaurs (Chiron, Pholus, Nessus, Asbolus, Chariklo and 1998 SG35) and Kuiper Belt objects (1994 TB, 1996 TL66, 1996 TO66, 1996 TP66 and 1998 WH4). The observations were performed with the 30 m telescope of the Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique for Pluto/Charon, and with the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and Caltech Submillimeter Observatory for Centaurs and Kuiper Belt objects. A tentative 4.5-σ J(2-1) CO line is present in the Pluto/Charon spectrum, which requires further confirmation. Assuming that Charon does not contribute to the CO emission, an upper limit...

    Le Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Bordeaux (anciennement Observatoire de Bordeaux) est doté sur son site d'un radiotélescope Würzburg de 7.5m de diamètre, utilisé dans le domaine de la radioastronomie.   20. Radioastronomia: noções iniciais para o ensino médio e fundamental como ilustração de aula

    A Radioastronomia, por ser uma ciência recente, muito pouco ou nada é discutida no nível do Ensino Fundamental e Médio, ou sobre suas aplicações e importância no desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico. Considerando que a bibliografia sobre o assunto é praticamente inexistente, este trabalho pretende ressaltar, de forma didática, algumas das características mais importantes da radioastronomia para atualização do professor. Além disto, apresenta uma prática de fácil manipulação para ser realizada em sala de aula, para que seja utilizada como ilustração das aulas de ondulatória na disciplina de Física do Ensino Médio, ou mesmo no conteúdo de Ciências, nas últimas séries do Ensino Fundamental.
