95. Low work-function thermionic emission and orbital-motion-limited ion collection at bare-tether cathodic contact - Chen, Xin; Sanmartín Losada, Juan Ramón
With a thin coating of low-work-function material, thermionic emission in the cathodic segment of bare tethers might be much greater than orbital-motion-limited (OML) ion collection current. The space charge of the emitted electrons decreases the electric field that accelerates them outwards, and could even reverse it for high enough emission, producing a potential hollow. In this work, at the conditions of high bias and relatively low emission that make the potential monotonic, an asymptotic analysis is carried out, extending the OML ion-collection analysis to investigate the probe response due to electrons emitted by the negatively biased cylindrical probe. At given...

98. Chaos and 1/f noise in nuclear spectra - Gómez, J. M. G.; Faleiro, E.; Molina, R. A.; Muñoz, L.; Relaño Pérez, Armando
Many complex systems in nature and in human society exhibit time fluctuations characterized by a power spectrum S(f) which is a power function of the frequency f . Examples with this behavior are the Sun spot activity, the human heartbeat, the DNA sequence, or Bach’s First Brandenburg Concert. In this work, we show that the energy spectrum fluctuations of quantum systems can be formally considered as a discrete time series, with energy playing the role of time. Because of this analogy, the fluctuations of quantum energy spectra can be studied using traditional methods of time series, like calculating the Fourier...

99. Connection between decoherence and excited state quantum phase transitions - Pérez Fernández, P.; Relaño Pérez, Armando; Arias, J. M.; Dukelsky, J.; García Ramos, J. E.
In this work we explore the relationship between an excited state quantum phase transition (ESQPT) and the phenomenon of quantum decoherence. For this purpose, we study how the decoherence is affected by the presence of a continuous ESQPT in the environment. This one is modeled as a two level boson system described by a Lipkin Hamiltonian. We will show that the decoherence of the system is maximal when the environment undergoes a continuous ESQPT.

100. Equivalence between Kaluza Klein modes of gravitinos and goldstinos in brane induced supersymmetry breaking - Curtis, Stefania De; Dominici, Daniele; Peláez Sagredo, José Ramón
We identify the goldstino fields that give mass to the Kaluza Klein modes of five dimensional supergravity, when supersymmetry breaking is induced by brane effects. We then proof the four dimensional Equivalence Theorem that, in renormalizable gauges, allows for the replacement of Kaluza Klein modes of helicity ±1/2 gravitinos in terms of goldstinos. Finally we identify the five dimensional renormalizable gauge fixing that leads to the Equivalence Theorem.
