62. Yet Another Simple Internet Electronic Payment System - J. Zhao; C. Dong; E. Koch
The potential service providers, customers, as well as financial institutions are constructing geographically the largest global business net in the business history over the Internet. The payment mechanism needed for this new business medium is a very important issue. This paper presents a simple debit-based electronic payment protocol QIPP (Qudro-way Internet Payment Protocol) and its implementation in an electronic commerce system on the World Wide Web. The aim of the QIPP is to provide sufficient security means and least changes to conventional business transaction and payment model for all participants involved in the global electronic commerce. Keywords Electronic Payment, Electronic...

63. The montreal taxonomy for electronic negotiations - Ströbel Michael; Weinhardt Christof
Abstract. Research in the domain of electronic negotiations is a rather new and very interdisciplinary field, which gains more and more attention due to the in-dustry hype and momentum regarding electronic commerce and electronic markets. Negotiations in a narrow sense (not taking into account simple forms such as ”hit and take”) have been identified as an advantageous coordination mechanism for the interaction of buyers and sellers in electronic markets that transcend the selling of commodities or uniform goods. Hence, support for negotiations may become a critical success factor for electronic markets, especially regarding the recent failures of many industrial ventures....

64. Electronic Guidebooks and Visitor Attention - Allison Woodruff; Paul M. Aoki; Amy Hurst; Margaret H. Szymanski
We describe an electronic guidebook prototype and report on a study of its use in a historic house. Supported by mechanisms in the guidebook, visitors constructed experiences that had a high degree of interaction with three entities: the guidebook, their companions, and the house and its contents. In this paper, we report a qualitative analysis of how different properties of the guidebook helped or hindered visitors ’ attempts to balance the competing demands of these attentional entities. Based on the visitors ’ comments and behavior, we distill a set of design principles.

67. Electronic Publishing or Electronic Information Handling?
The current dramatic evolution in information technology is bringing major modifications in the way scientists communicate. The concept of `electronic publishing' is too restrictive and has often different, sometimes conflicting, interpretations. It is thus giving way to the broader notion of `electronic information handling' encompassing the diverse types of information, the different media, as well as the various communication methodologies and technologies. New problems and challenges result also from this new information culture, especially on legal, ethical, and educational grounds. The procedures for validating `published material' and for evaluating scientific activities will have to be adjusted too. `Fluid' information is becoming a common concept. Electronic publishing cannot be conceived...

76. Dinámica electrónica en anillos benzoidales acoplados coaxialmente - Fonseca Romero, K.M.; Roberto-Torres, A.M.; Rey González, Rafael R.
We investigate a molecular wire comprising two coaxially coupled benzoidal rings, for each of which a localized ¿-like electronic state is considered. In this configuration the tunneling between the electronic states, due to the non-zero overlapp between them, is important. We consider the interaction of electrons with the torsional mode, assuming small oscillations. The exact solutions of the Hamiltonian dynamics, in the one-electron sector, exhibits phonon modulation. We additionally show that electronic states entangles with the phononic mode.

Electronic voting poses unique design challenges, simultaneously requiring extensive security, universal access, and strict privacy. Results of British focus group research into electronic voting usability are presented. Recommendations flow, that follow the principle that electoral processes must be designed around the accurate transmission and aggregation of all voters ’ uncoerced wishes. Keywords:
