  1. Effect of harvesting time on seed physiological quality, chemical composition and storability of soybeans. Sci. agric

    ABSTRACT: Soybeans IAC-8 were harvested in the growth stages R7 and R8 commercial harvesting time and at two other subsequent times to compare their physiological and technological characteristics. Seeds were stored at two moisture levels, 12 % and 15%, for 6 months. Germination and vigor (acelerated aging, electrical conductivity), oil and free fatty acids, peroxide and iodine values were evaluated periodically. As expected, the time of harvesting and seed moisture content affected seed performance, while oil content did not correlate to physiological quality as did acidity, peroxide value and iodine number.

    ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of sheep in different tropical forages and the structure of the canopy and chemical composition of pasture. The treatments consisted of two cultivars of Panicum, Massai and Aruana and two of Brachiaria, Marandu and Piatã under intermittent capacity and variable stocking rate, in the rainy season.     The formation and characterization of self-assembled films of zirconium phosphonate / N,N’-di(2-phosphonoethyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide (DPN) is presented. The films were produced on glass sub-strates by deposition of alternating layers of Zr+4 and DPN. Films containing up to 16 layers on each side of the substrate were obtained and monitored by absorption spectroscopy and ellipsometry. When irradiated, the initially colorless films turned to a persistent pinky color reminiscent of that of DPN anion radical. These films are a promising material to the development of photovoltaic devices. Key words: zirconium phosphonates, naphthalenediimides, self-assembled films.

    Short R; Sesquiterpene Lactones From Minasia Alpestris
    A investigação química das folhas de Minasia alpestris forneceu dois novos furanoeliangolidos, bem como sete lactonas sequiterpênicas conhecidas. As estruturas foram elucidadas através de métodos espectroscópicos. The chemical investigation of the Minasia alpestris leaves afforded two new furanoheliangolides in addition to seven known sesquiterpene lactones. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
