    La presente evaluación hidrogeológica tiene el propósito de apoyar a los municipios de Tecoripa y Suaqui Grande para resolver la problemática que enfrentan respecto a la escasez de agua, reflejado, en el abatimiento de sus acuíferos y en los bajos escurrimientos superficiales. La evaluación incluyo información previa y genero nuevos datos sobre geología, geofísica, hidrología superficial e hidrogeología. Para conocer las condiciones del subsuelo, se aplicaron las técnicas de prospección geofísica de resistividad eléctrica y gravimetría.   4. Desarrollo de un modelo geoidal CGV08 como insumo para la determinación nacional del geoide

    Costa Rica carece de un modelo geoidal propio. Ese aspecto nos lleva a utilizar el modelo geoidal regional Carib97 y el modelo global EGM96, lo que genera problemas de pendientes del terreno muy marcadas que dan variaciones en la determinación de la ondulación geoidal. La actividad de investigación desarrollada se usa como plan piloto para demostrar la necesidad de contar con un modelo geoidal, que permita definir información con mejor calidad en los campos geofísicos de interés para todos los profesionales afines a la ciencia. En este artículo se brindan los resultados tras la medición, procesamiento y análisis estadísticos realizados.

  5. Herramienta software para optimizar la utilización de sistemas electromagnéticos de prospección geofísica en la Arqueología

    This article shows the applicability of ground penetrating radar (GPR) to archaeological investigations, with the aid of a software that allows increasing the resolution of the measurements. This software has been applied for the first time in Baelo Claud in order to obtain information about city´s decumanus and the crossing with cardines minores Furthermore, the developed tools has also been used to locate in Málaga and Puerto Real (Cádiz) common graves where the remains of about 2,600 victims of the Spanish Civil War rest and the repression that came before and after the civil conflict.

  6. Interpretação do Paleoambiente do Sambaqui do Recreio: Uma análise Geofísica e Paleogeográfica

    O presente trabalho busca interpretar o paleoambiente com o qual conviveram os grupos de pescadores-coletores que habitaram o Sambaqui do Recreio entre 3.540 ± 50 A.P. e 3.350 ± 50 A.P.     The typical earthquakes occurring at Mt. Vesuvius are Volcano-Tectonic. On July 20, 2003, an unusual earthquake with low and narrow frequency content was detected. The seismograms presented an emergent onset and a nearly monochromatic spectrum at all stations of the Osservatorio Vesuviano (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia) seismic network.
