41. [en] FROM HISTORY OF THE WORD: A THEOLOGY OF REVELATION IN PAUL RICOEUR - ESDRAS COSTA BENTO

The condition distributed in space and in time of the philosophy (desire of wisdom) does not imply universality, but rather plurality, and even pluriversality. Universality implies a tendency to “the One”, which since Plato has been conceived as a transcendent entity. The plurality advocated in this contribution, inspired by Leibniz and James, states adversus unum, not versus unum. Consequently, it advocates a pluriversal philosophy, which explores and afirms the plurality in each of the areas investigated. The monotheistic substrate of universality in the scholastic logic is also remarked. Facing the logical-deductive monism, which afirms the existence of a single mode...

In this paper we defend that Hellenistic philosophy has created two fundamentals: scientific truths and the physical-rational being. Now, to avoid dogmatisms, they have to be understood as accumulative universals. In this paper will be shown that this was the sense of the three main universals centralized during the Hellenistic period: eidé, tópoi and lékta.

Towards the middle part of the VI Centyry an important change takes place in the history of mankind thinking. Explanations about worlviews, mankind and its origins proposed by mytical thinkers are increasingly substituted by the so-called first philosophers’ explanations. It’s a reflection about nature in general and its processes, and they try to penetrate reality as it is and to discover the answers in natural causes. It is precisely in this new vision of nature that Western Medicine is rooted. A rational, scientific explanation of human illness wins over a mythical-magical mentality that maintains the sickness has a sacred character....

This paper is an invitation to reflect on the advisability of analysing philosophy from a naturalistic perspective. That is, from a perspective that considers philosophy as if it was one more cultural object, which can be studied using the tools that we have available to us today and that are provided by disciplines such as evolutionary psychology or anthropology oriented by a distinctly cognitivist approach. A central concept in the analysis is that of “intuitive ontology”—closely linked to folkphilosophy or the spontaneous, naïve (natural) way of thinking that is associated with common sense—which is a result of the evolutionary process...

The philosophy of the Upanishads confirms the concern of the ancient Indian civilization for metaphysical knowledge. This communication will focus on the Kena Up, which deserves to be highlighted because of its specific issue, regarding the fundamental metaphysical question. It encourages the essential metaphysical quest: Who is being?. Beyond the limits that characterize both the philosophy and religion, the mythic and symbolic language of the teachings of the Upanishads provides fundamental answers which transforms the vision and the meaning of life. In this way, the upanisad allows the achievement of the goal set by philosophy Indian classical in terms of...

48. Salvar lo infinito: La filosofía de Gilles Deleuze - Ingala Gómez, Emma
The present article aims first to identify the role that the notion of infinite plays in Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy, where it is raised as the absolute horizon of thought as well as the criterion for distinguishing, according to the relationships established with it, the specificity of philosophy, science and art. Then, and once defined the mission of philosophy as the attempt to save the infinite, we will try to track the particular theories on this question offered by Leibniz and Spinoza as the fundamental source of inspiration for the deleuzian doctrine on infinity.

The notion of infinite, considered from an ontological perspective, constitutes the topic of the present article. The intention is to think about the singular exposition that the contemporary philosophy has opened concerning this idea, ant that has provoked a deep modification of the philosophical traditional approach of the opposition finity-infinity. A new approach with decisive influences in the different areas of the philosophy and of other disciplines to her linked: anthropology, theology...

In Schopenhauer’s philosophy it’s possible to think the infinity away from the abstract and speculative considerations and within this concept’s implications in life. With this concept, man’s will loses it’s measure and confuses this measureless individuality with totality. In contrast, ascetics, the possibility of vacuity or emptiness, shatters individuality seeking the undifferentiated unity with totality. Oneself knowledge is the recognition of finiteness as the proper way for man, and the only possibility individuality has of mitigating the pain intrinsic to it.

Descartes is a dramatic thinker in which the medieval theocentrism fights against modern anthropocentrism. He perceives in men both limited and limitless capabilities, but he attributes the finite ones exclusively to men and the limitless to an infinite being, as well as substantiates these limitless capabilities in an infinite substance. This attitude, originated in the Judeo-Christian vision of the original sin, explains his conceptual deficiencies and his confusion about the concept of infinity and his fallacious arguments: some of these errors are analyzed theoretically and have an ideological origin.

The article analyses the problem of the impact of a new technology (the computer, making the appearance of electronic writing —called by some authors “new orality”— possible) on a discipline (philosophy) which is closely linked with traditional writing. Electronic writing can represent a threat to philosophy if it adopts the characteristics attributed to this writing by experts and if it substitutes slow argumentation with unreflective haste.

53. Cavernas virtuales y cavernas reales - Echeverría, Javier

One of the current debates in nature philosophy focuses on the continuous or discontinuous structure of the world. This invites us to look – as part of a basic assumption – at the origin of an old and interesting debate which will open a sincere and profound discussion. It departs from the Pythagorean School passing by Parmenides including Zeno and Aristotle as the main thinkers, revealing the “rupture” between the real and the apparent. Conclusion: the debate in science continues to be in force.
