In this paper, we propose a novel technique for constructing multiple levels of a tetrahedral volume dataset while
preserving the topologies of all isosurfaces embedded in the data. Our simplification technique has two major
phases. In the segmentation phase, we segment the volume data into topological-equivalence regions, that is, the
sub-volumes within each of which all isosurfaces have the same topology. In the simplification phase, we simplify
each topological-equivalence region independe...

Process Topologies

Introduction
This chapter discusses the MPI topology mechanism. A topology is an extra, optional
attribute that one can give to an intra-communicator; topologies cannot be added to intercommunicators.
A topology can provide a convenient naming mechanism for the processes
of a group (within a communicator), and additionally, may assist the runtime system in
mapping the processes onto hardware.
As stated in chapter ??, a process group in MPI is a collection of n processes. Each
process in the g...

Introduction
A neural network is a network of neurons. This high level definition applies to both biological neural networks
and artificial neural networks. This chapter is mainly concerned with the various ways in which neurons can
be interconnected to form the networks or network topologies used in artificial neural networks, even though
some underlying principles are also applicable to their biological counterparts. The term `neural network' is
therefore used to stand for `artificial neura...

The Hypercube is a popular interconnection topology for multicomputers for a
variety of reasons. Graphs that are related to the Hypercube have many of the same
properties, as well as other additional desirable properties.
In particular, we will look at the properties of the Fibonacci Cube, the Hyper
Petersen Graph, and the Pancake and Star Graphs. We will explore routing on all
these topologies. And, we will compare all these topologies to that of the Hypercube.

This paper deals with locally convex topological sequence spaces. We first consider solid topologies in order to obtain some results that will be useful later. The main part of this paper is devoted to a detailed study of the normal topology of a dual pair of sequence spaces. We obtain criterions for this topology to be normable or metrizable, and conditions under which it coincides with the Mackey topology on echelon and coechelon spaces of order p. Finally we use the former results on solid...
